Air India's Boeing 787 fleet faces renewed scrutiny after reports emerged of a malfunctioning door that emitted unsettling noises during a June 1 flight from Delhi to Hong Kong. Flight attendants documented a thin gap at the door's apex, temporarily sealing it with paper napkins—a makeshift solution that permitted SAFE arrival. This marks at least the fourth such occurrence since 2019, including three prior incidents involving similar acoustic anomalies.

Boeing's stock (NYSE:BA) demonstrated resilience, climbing modestly during Monday trading despite the revelation. Market indifference suggests investors view these recurring mechanical quirks as minor operational nuisances rather than systemic flaws. The aviation giant's shares have weathered multiple 787-related headlines this year, including January's mid-air door plug failure on Alaska Airlines Flight 171.
